Weekender #3

  • Spent time this week to write a remembrance of a friend that passed a few weeks ago. While it took a time to gather my thoughts to write something somewhat coherent, it was harder to go back and re-read some past messages, but I’m glad I did. It brought back so many memories and fun times.

  • My dog Roxy would have been 18 years old today. It feels just like yesterday when I held her in my arms for the first time.

  • I’m compiling a list of simple things folks can do to protect their privacy online for a work project. Things like removing location data from photos, using an ad / tracker blocker, etc. If you have any tips, I’d love to hear them.

  • Exciting things are coming to the Drafts app! The latest beta was released during the week, and it’s been a lot of fun to finally make Drafts look and feel the way I want it to. I’d love to be able to keep all of my writing in Drafts!

  • After Shin Godzilla, Hideaki Anno will try his hand at a New Ultraman!

  • For anyone involved in the 90’s design scene, you’ll appreciate some of these. This collection of design books from the Internet archive features some classic Emigre magazines that I haven’t seen in many moons. Maybe back issues of RayGun will show up one day?

  • I enjoyed reading this fascinating, and very in depth article on Running a Successful Membership / Subscription Program by Craig Mod. His honesty and transparency on how he runs his business and, willingness to share his experiences will help so many trying to grow their own base.

  • This thread won the week fore me. If you’ve ever loved a stuffed animal, this is for you: Pinkie Bear Surgery.
