Weekender #64

  • Birb watch: the baby dove is getting bigger, but still wants to eat out of my hand. Meanwhile, Handsome and Matey the myna birds are feeding their babies in the neighbors roof nook. Whenever they see Audra or myself outside, they fly down and patiently wait for us to feed them something to take up to the nest. Handsome flys amazingly close to my head before landing, probably to make sure that I notice him. Perhaps in a few more weeks, the baby myna will fly out to say hello!

  • Over the weekend, I got my 2nd booster dose (yes, I’m old). For the most part, I felt fine, but tonight as I’m writing this, the arm that received the injection is killing me. So this edition will be a little shorter than usual.

  • On Friday, ATARASHII GAKKO in a cool collaboration with Nike, released their new single WOO! GO!. Check out the 「WOO! GO!」 music video and the additional NIKE Study Break #1【Dance It Off!】video.

  • I’m still waiting for mine, but it was cool reading about the Playdate’s crank control input that was 8-years in the making.

  • Here’s a great deep dive on Mac external displays for designers and developers. It really goes into detail on pixel density, color space, bit depth and more.

  • It was a shorter week, but still really busy. The lo-fi sounds of the album Close Distance by FloFilz got me through. Listen on Apple Music.
