The folks who are usually against bullies or intolerance often don't realize that they become the intolerant bullies. Twitter rival Mastodon isn’t safe from online mobs either

I started using RSS feeds again at the beginning of this year and it's been great for news. I still wish more brands would re-introduce RSS into their website. A good substitute has been Twitter groups.
PSA: Reeder 3 is free on iOS and Mac. A really nice RSS feed reader!

So will happen to this when you die?
By “this” I’m referring to your blog and any other digital artifacts you host on your own. Given that hosting is usually not free forever, has anyone given any thought to what will happen to your writing, photos, etc when you pass?

“You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where? Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?” - Nigel Tufnel

Now that Nikon has released their new full frame mirrorless camera, folks are already saying that micro four thirds is going to have a hard time. IMO, m43 will be fine. Not everyone wants big glass and has $2000+ to spend. It will be interesting to see what m43 does next.
So Hurricane Lane basically had a 3 day countdown from Category 5 to 1 and is now a Tropical Storm. Not much rain here on Oahu yet but skies are overcast and it’s been windy but humid.
Life is slowly getting back to normal with malls and other businesses opening up today.

There is something really great about waiting for a rain storm and having Tombstone pizza for dinner.

Everyday I wonder how much longer I have with my buddy. Just trying to enjoy our time together and make sure she’s as comfortable as possible.
Argh. I need to remember not to post images from the micro.blog Mac client until the height and width code is fixed.
Hmmm. This forecast doesn't look too good. But... gonna stay positive since the path could always change or it could dissipate.
Living on an island as small as Oahu can kinda suck when it comes to shopping for stuff with a possible hurricane headed this way. Everyone is buying water, toilet paper and batteries. The shelves are bare at a lot of places.
Looks like Drobo got acquired. Dunno what this means just yet.
Going to install Parallels Desktop 13 that I've had for about a year since I just upgraded to High Sierra. Just got a notification letting me know that v. 14 is out…
I should be excited about a new phone right around now... but the entire process is kind of a drag. The memory of trying to get the iPhone X last year was quite painful. Not really looking forward to it again.

Shucks. Updated to the latest micro.blog Mac app but it still uploads images to external websites with img code width="nan" height="0"

Looks like the dev who makes Taskmator iOS wants to sell the source code.

So when does the Twitter API turn off? Seems to still be streaming in Tweetbot? Haven’t upgraded to the new version yet.
micro.blog feels like the pre-internet days of the BBS. You had to:
- Own a computer
- Know what a modem was & how to work it.
- Know what a BBS is & how to find one.
Similarly, micro.blog sets a high bar to join, which may be good or bad depending on how you look at it.
Latest Shortcuts beta still has issues running in widget mode on my iPhone X on iOS 11. Is this fixed in iOS 12 beta?
Hmm strange. Not sure why the URL showed up in my previous posts here. Also, seems like it takes longer than usual for my posts to show up in the timeline. I guess external blogs take longer?

Steve Perry releases first new song, 'No Erasin' /via @jhull

Hell froze! A new Steve Perry album coming in October.
My 2016 MacBook Pro started to wobble when I typed on it. I usually use it in clam shell with an external monitor and rarely as a laptop. At first I thought I had somehow warped the chassis, but upon closer inspection, it seems the battery might be swollen.
Have you ever been so busy at work and regular life that everything else sort of falls off a cliff?
Trying to climb back up the side of the cliff so I can get back to some of the fun stuff…

Trying to convince the wife to start posting to micro.blog. Guess I have some work to do to set her up.

I’m 45 mins in on the latest @gruber’s The Talk Show. Does he answer any other questions aside from: does the laptop get hot, do you hate the keyboard, i7 or i9, do you with the keyboard had an escape key?
Whoa. The TNG universe lives! Patrick Stewart returns to play Jean Luc Picard!
