Got to quickly see the Diver’s City Gundam in Odaiba, but it looked like it was still offline. The one in Yokohama is still fully functional (3rd photo).
Waiting to get inside. Japan is very good at queuing. Also, amazing coordination of the lines and crowds at this event! #comitia142 #comitia
We had a chance to go to see Suzume no tojimari (すずめの戸締まり ) last night at the theater. Such an amazing movie with beautiful animation and story telling!

First stop: Bungujoshi at the Tokyo Distribution Center 1st Exhibition Hall. It’s a huge stationery event with vendors from all over Japan selling their pens, notebooks and washi tape.
I should have known that I wouldn’t lug 3 cameras around during this trip. I’ve been carrying my two Ricoh GR’s and leaving the Panasonic LUMIX LX100ii in the hotel room. Carrying a backpack all day long is hard, so traveling light is important.
Audra has had us on a fairly packed schedule. Been walking 6+ miles a day. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the station. My feet hurt, but I’m thankful to be able to enjoy this place.
Happy Thanksgiving from Shake Shack Yokohama! No turkey, but burgers are better! Very thankful for being able to come back to Japan.

Thankful that the weather is great today as we checked out of our hotel and have to get on the train. Hoping it stays this way for a bit.
Yesterday it 🌧️ non-stop. Picked up our glasses at J!Ns in Shibuya and spent the rest of the time at the Parco waiting to get into the Nintendo shop. So glad I got shoe covers for rainy days!

IKEA for lunch! Some might say it’s just cafeteria food, but we love it! Hawaii doesn’t have an IKEA, so we go when we can.

I guess I missed my Twitterversary 4 days ago. I’ve been on that platform for 16 years and 4 days (since 15 Nov 2006). I hope it won’t burn to the ground before my vacation is over.
Some helpful info on using Apple Pay if you’re on vacation in Japan. Basically, look for the Visa-Mastercard-Amex contactless acceptance marks, and tell the checkout staff you want to pay using: “credit” or “touch“. Don’t say ‘Apple Pay’.

Nitori took over the Tokyu Hands building in Ikebukuro. Happy we were there on this store’s opening day, but sad that there’s no Tokyu Hands in Ikebukuro now.

This seemed like a good idea at first… I did not try it, but I thought about it for longer than I care to admit…

I totally forgot that I signed up for Mastodon back in 2017 or so? I’ll start cross-posting there just in case. I’m @[email protected] if you want to follow.
