December 2018 Archives

I don’t mind folks wanting to celebrate the New Year with a few fireworks, but these aerial gun fire bombs are just too much. Illegal fireworks are rampant here and no matter what the laws are, it seems they simply can’t or won’t enforce them.

Taking some time to look back on the very difficult year that was 2018 with a lot of gratitude. Focusing on the good vs. the bad is the best way to end the year and move into the next.

This year, my wife surprised me with a handmade and and drawn memory book of our dog, Roxy who passed a few months ago. It brought me to tears. Best gift ever!! Here are some pages.

The Kindle version of Haruki Murakami's latest book 'Killing Commendatore' is on sale today for $4.99, which is pretty rare.

I love these types of tests. Really nice that they took time to see if there was a real difference and used the same hardware for all tests.

Finally had a chance to play with iSH the other day. Couldn't get youtube-dl via curl. Kept getting the error

curl: (35) LibreSSL SSLconnect:  SSLERROR_SYSCALL in connection to yt-dl.org:443

even though curl itself seems to work and libreSSL is installed.
